The original Beauty Bar opened in Manhattan's East Village in 1995. Previously it operated as Thomas Beauty Salon since 1960. All the fixtures and most of the furniture is original including the manicurist Florence, 88, who was one of the owners. Beauty Bar is a must see when visiting New York City.
